My Main Man (NaBloPoMo #4)

In an effort to be more intentional about my writing and to really work on strengthening my skills, I'm participating in Blogher's NaBloPoMo for July.
The theme is CONNECT.
Everyday, I'm going to write based on the prompts and share it here and on Blogher.
I would love to hear any and all feedback from you

This guy is just the coolest.

He lets me take goofy pictures of him and entertains me with his silly stories and 'Toddisms.'

When I'm having a bad day, he brings me back up. He always knows the right things to say to make me feel better.

If anything happens during the day, good or bad, he's the one I want to tell.

When we met, we had an instant connection. I remember his striped socks and casual attitude. He remembers thinking how smart I sounded in our work meeting.

No matter where we end up in this life, he will always be the person I run to. We'll be getting married in just a few months and I couldn't be happier. I can truly say I'm marrying my best friend.

I love that we can talk about work, the weather, news, sports, music and beer all in the same five minute conversation. We dream big together. We share our fears and insecurities along with our wins because we know that we always have each other's back.

There is no one in the world I feel closer to and I'm super thankful to have T in my life.

Hope you enjoy this beautiful holiday with those you are closest to.
Happy 4th of July.

We had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends. I love spending time with family- laughing, cooking, eating, baking, playing games and giving gifts. I love taking time to think over what this holiday is all about. We read Luke 2 numerous times in our Advent reading plan and during the church sermons. One verse really stuck out to me:

"But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart." Luke 2:19

This excerpt came from my journal on Christmas:

This verse makes me think about what God has in store for us in 2013. In this part of the story, Mary is hearing all the good news her new baby boy is bringing- the proclamation of his amazing future. I think about the blessings just starting in my life and what the future holds for me...if these blessings are just a glimpse into an amazing life in store for me. Thank you baby Jesus for all you've given me. I'm taking these blessings and pondering them in my heart.

Happy Birthday Jesus.

Thankful Thursday: Happy Thanksgiving

Everyday I have so much to be thankful for.
Yesterday was no exception.
Blessings abound!

I spent my first Thanksgiving as a bride-to-be to my love, T.

I woke up to 60 degree temperatures in November- perfect short running weather.

I got to spend 3 hours in the kitchen watching 'Home for the Holidays' and cooking up a storm.

I made homemade stuffing from scratch- Success!

I cooked my first pie ever and it was delicious!

I spent the afternoon with my grandparents, aunt/uncle/cousins, sister/bro-in-law/niece over good food and good conversation.

I was able to chat with both of my parents and wish them a Happy Thanksgiving.

And today I was able to spend time working on the novel the I am set to finish in 7 days and enjoy leftovers and sweatpants (weekend must haves!)

Life is so good.

Psalm 100 (NLT)
A psalm of thanksgiving.
1Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
2Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
3Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
5For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

God is so good to me and I'm feeling so incredibly blessed for everything He has bestowed upon me in life. So many exciting things on the horizon.

Happy Thanksgiving friends.
I feel blessed to have you be a part of my story here on EvenMe.
I hope you all got to enjoy some time with loved ones near and far. I hope you got a chance to thank God for all the blessings he's bestowed upon you. Here's to another year basking in gratitude.
