I have so many comments... but I will keep them brief. :) I read "Eat, Pray, Love" a few months after I got married, thinking "why did this woman leave a perfectly fine relationship?" It didn't make sense with me. Between that time and the time the film was released, I had become increasingly unhappy in my own marriage and Liz Gilbert's story suddenly make sense and resonated with me. I have not read "Committed" but perhaps now I will.

I think you captured a place that no one likes to go yet somehow we all end up there at some point:

"I've been in relationships where it feels like you lose yourself in this other person- slowly picking up all their hobbies and habits until you feel like you don't know who you are anymore. You end up forgetting what it is you like to do and you end up losing those qualities that made you attractive to this other person in the first place."

I hate that place and I hope I never go there again.

Thanks for such a real and honest piece of writing!Deena Nicolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09568537874399018943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7965372163273150252.post-79169081885361120132011-10-26T08:10:46.956-05:002011-10-26T08:10:46.956-05:00Slightly speechless.
